Hidden messages are something that has been used for centuries to amuse, entertain, delight and even protect us. The Victorians, in particular, loved to use flowers, precious stones and metals, pieces of jewellery, and even handheld fans to pass discrete communications to their loved ones and even share elaborate messages with others.

And it’s no different for us today. We love the thrill and excitement of passing on hidden messages! Smart packaging and product manufacturers will sometimes use a hidden message to delight and entertain purchasers - from a raincoat that displays a pattern when wet, through to comedic messages printed on the bottom of carton packages.
